Absolutely amazed by this place. If you want to have a panaromic view of Dublin city then this is the place to be.
The upward climb has two routes, one is a steep climb which will take you around 15 to 20 minutes to reach and the other climb involves a sloped road which should take about 40 minutes.
But overall, the climb will be worth it once you reach the top. Would recommend to carry a bottle of water cos you'll be needing one when you reach on top.
The walk is great, either take the hard way up and the easy way down, or the easy way up and the hard way down, although gravity does help on this one. There is a medium way but you can figure out what comes next. The view of dublin is worth it alone, although a quick peek in the the hellfire club is always with it.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ON THE ROADS UP HERE VERY DANGEROUS PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME. ARRIVE ALIVE 😀
Brilliant day out. I was always up here as a kid wish it was my house. An old English hunting lodge said to have been visited and burnt by the devil himself or so the story goes. They say If you can run around it backwards 12 times you'll see the Devil, we never managed it but it always gave the parents quite time.
Car park at base you can walk straight up or walk around the mountain and up we went around and up but came straight down. Straight up and down is strenuous on the legs and knees but if it's too much you will meet the around path.
DONT LEAVE VALUABLES IN CAR.
Be careful driving on the road it's very windy. We nearly got hit by some insane lunatic coming down thinking he could try over take a car and a bike only I was driving slowly there would have been a major accident so drive carefully and watch out for cyclists they come down at some speed. Beware of people walking. It's a dangerous road.
Somebody told me that this place is very creepy i think it was. I've read about history of Hell Fire Club as well and it made me to go there. In the middle of our visit it started to rain very heavy and there were thunders as well :) Definitely recommended. Even little forest surrounding the hill has this weird vibe. I wouldn't go there at night.
Amazing trail, 360 degree view of dublin, from the top, CARPE DIEM!
Did the rocky climb to the Hellfire Club , views were amazing
Been walking up to the hellfire club for nearly 40 year. You get a beautiful view of the whole of Dublin as well as spotting some of the wildlife like deers the odd time. Recently discovered more of the ghost stories surrounding the place too 👻 …
Site of the infamous Hellfire Club and a great day trip. Lots of places to walk and enjoy some great views of Dublin. It is a bit of an uphill hike up to the hellfire club but worth it, especially if you are a fan of haunted locations.
